This course addresses the eight core elements of an effective safety and health system and those central issues that are critical to each element's development, implementation and proper management through the use of written material. The focus of this course is to develop the student's skills and knowledge in the development and implementation of a company's safety and health management system with emphasis on the written program documents required by OSHA. Using a hands-on approach, students will have the opportunity to develop policies, procedures and checklists that are required to effectively manage their own safety and health management system. Participants completing this course will also receive a completion certificate for the OSHA #7500 Introduction to Safety and Health Management.

Paul Wind
Paul Wind is a Battalion Chief with the Picatinny Arsenal Fire & Emergency Services in New Jersey. Paul is a 30-year veteran in Emergency Services where he has served as both a volunteer and career firefighter and holds numerous nationally accredited certifications. He has over 19 years in OSHA Outreach Training with 6 years at UTA. He continues to develop and instruct courses with a discipline in Hazardous Materials, Permit Required Confined Space, Excavation Safety, Firefighter Health & Safety, and Disaster Site Worker. Paul is also a Gulf War Veteran (of the US Air Force) and currently resides in New Jersey with his wife Melissa and his two children.
