Become a UT Arlington Authorized Safety & Health Trainer! In just a few easy steps, you can become authorized through UT Arlington to teach 1-day safety awareness courses for specialized topics including Fall Protection, Excavation, Confined Space, Cranes, and more! Start by taking one subject or use the applicable courses you have already taken.

OSHA’s Campaign for Safety & Health Programs

This October, OSHA initiated a new Campaign for Safety & Health Programs to encourage workplaces to adopt a safety & health program. In support of the Campaign, they have released a set of Recommended Practices for Safety and Health Programs as well as multiple other resources to help employers establish a methodical approach to improving safety and health in their workplaces.

National Ladder Safety Symposium - March 2

Every year over 300 people die in ladder-related accidents, and thousands suffer disabling injuries. Mark your calendar to join UT Arlington, Region IV OSHA, TEXO, and the American Ladder Institute (ALI) in celebrating the first-ever National Ladder Safety Month at a National Ladder Safety Symposium on March 2, 2016. Presentors include Ryan Moss, President of ALI and CEO of Little Giant Ladder Systems as well as OSHA Area Directors Jack Rector and Basil Singh.

SSH shield

Earn your SSH in the Construction or General Industry by completing one (1) required course and three (3) electives. Earn your SSH in Risk Management, Fire & Safety, Disaster Response, Oil & Gas, Port Safety, or Healthcare by completing the required courses and two (2) electives.


Choose from General Industry or Construction. Complete six (6) core courses plus two (2) elective courses. Courses may be completed at the UT Arlington OSHA Education Center or any OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Center in the country.


Earn your SHEP by completing coursework in Safety and Health, Environmental, and Risk Management. Completion of your SHEP credential fulfills the prerequisite requirement for the Master Certification programs.
