The University of Texas at Arlington offers a wide range of Adult Enrichment courses open to individuals 18 and older. These non-credit classes are designed to build skills, explore interests, and provide practical learning experiences in a flexible format. Course offerings span areas such as professional development, technology, creative arts, wellness, and personal interest topics. The courses highlighted below offer a glimpse into the types of experiences available and will also be included as part of the Golden Mavs membership. Whether you are looking to gain new skills, try something different, or expand your knowledge, our courses provide accessible and engaging opportunities for adult learners at every stage.

This fall, the University of Texas at Arlington Extension and Extended Campus (UTA EEC) will introduce Golden Mavs, a new membership-based program designed for adults aged 55 and above. This initiative aims to support active engagement, ongoing education, and social interaction among participants. The program will offer a welcoming environment for lifelong learners to pursue a range of enrichment opportunities within a supportive and relaxed setting. Topics will range widely, including but not limited to history, literature, music, art, health, technology, and personal hobbies such as gardening, cooking, and creative writing. Open to all individuals over 55, Golden Mavs will feature courses led by volunteers dedicated to sharing their expertise and life experiences.

Seniors 65+ can audit a credit course for free
The Senior Citizens 65+ Free Tuition (up to 6 credit hours) benefit applies only to academic, for-credit courses at UTA. This program does not apply to the non-credit personal enrichment, career training, or the senior programs listed below or provided by the Extension and Extended Campus.The Senior Citizen 65+ Tuition Exemption is available to individuals age 65 or older and may be applied toward both academic for-credit undergraduate and graduate coursework at UTA.
Eligible students are exempt from paying tuition for up to six semester credit hours per semester but must apply for the exemption before registering for classes. Proof of age and a completed application must be submitted to the Admissions Office. Please note that enrollment is limited to late registration only and is subject to space availability.
The exemption does not apply to Accelerated Online courses and covers only designated tuition (other fees and charges still apply). Both undergraduate and graduate admissions oversee this program in accordance with the Texas Education Code, Sections 54.365 and 51.9095.
