This course is designed specifically for contractors, military, and government employees who enforce or must comply with United States Army Corps of Engineers safety and health requirements (EM 385-1-1, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety & Health Requirements Manual). Attendees will learn the unique procedures established by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contracts and EM 385-1-1 for construction safety requirements. Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate of completion from The University of Texas Arlington for EM 385-1-1. Topics include recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in construction. Specific topics cover preparation of site-specific accident prevention plan (APP), activity hazard analysis development, site personnel training, incident response, and jobsite auditing.

Parking: Parking is prohibited around The Westfall Group building that shares an entrance to the parking lot. It is recommended that students park along the fence line on the back perimeter of the AGC building.

Jeffrey Campbell

"Jeffrey L. Campbell is a Chemist with over 30 years of experience in the transportation, safety, and environmental fields. His work experience includes working as a laborer and equipment operator in both construction and general industry settings. Laboratory roles include a process bench chemist in Refinery, petrochemical, and ethanol plants and an approval chemist for Hazardous Waste and Non-Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facilities. Mr. Campbell obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Education at McNeese State University and has been teaching and training in different capacities since the mid 1980's when he taught high school chemistry and mathematics. He is currently an instructor for Environmental Team Resources and serves as an adjunct instructor for the U.S. Department of Transportation, the University of Texas at Arlington, Lamar Institute of technology, and McNeese State University."
