QUALIFIED FLAGGER

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This TxDOT approved training qualifies participants as “Qualified Flaggers” in accordance with Specification Items 7 (Legal Relations and Responsibilities) and 502 (Barricades, Signs, and Traffic Handling). Designed for personnel performing flagging duties on construction and maintenance projects, the course covers essential responsibilities and safe, effective traffic control practices.

This course is ideal for individuals who perform or supervise flagging operations, directly or indirectly. It also meets training requirements for those seeking certification as escort flaggers under Texas law and Chapter 22 of the Basic Peace Officer Course.

COURSE CONTENT INCLUDES:

  • Participant engagement through hands-on activities
  • Temporary traffic control
  • Flagger duties and qualifications
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Hand signaling devices
  • Flagger procedures
  • Flagger stations
  • Setting up a work zone

CERTIFICATE:
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion and a Qualified Flagger wallet card valid for a period of 4 years.
