COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This 16 hr. course is geared to those who supervise traffic control technicians and other personnel in roadway work zones and is intended to familiarize supervisors with procedures used to make decisions regarding work zone traffic control. Course meets TxDOT Special Provision to Item 7 standard for Contractor Responsible Person and Alternate.
COURSE CONTENT INCLUDES:
- Designing a series of traffic control plans that meet TMUTCD requirements
- Treatment procedures for pavement edge drop-offs
- Procedures for conducting periodic inspections of the traffic control setup
- Considerations for day and nighttime work zones
- Importance of proper record keeping
- A review of basic communication strategies for improved worker performance
CERTIFICATE:
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion and 1.6 CEUs from UTA’s Public Works Institute.
