Applied Fire Safety, Protection, & Analysis (NFPA 101)

This course examines fire safety in building design, occupancy, and maintenance exploring the issues of safety of facilities from a life and fire safety and fire code compliance standpoint. The course will cover the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and discuss the interrelation of construction, built-in fire protection, occupancy, and building maintenance. Participants will explore the issues of adopted codes versus referenced standards and face problems in code compliance with more than one applicable code.

Participants must present a government-issued photo ID in order to attend this training.

This training will be conducted via Microsoft Teams, and no software download is required. Participants must have a PC or Mac computer with audio and video capabilities, and an uninterrupted internet connection. Participants must present a government-issued photo ID to attend this training.

Paul Wind

Paul Wind is a Battalion Chief with the Picatinny Arsenal Fire & Emergency Services in New Jersey. Paul is a 30-year veteran in Emergency Services where he has served as both a volunteer and career firefighter and holds numerous nationally accredited certifications. He has over 19 years in OSHA Outreach Training with 6 years at UTA. He continues to develop and instruct courses with a discipline in Hazardous Materials, Permit Required Confined Space, Excavation Safety, Firefighter Health & Safety, and Disaster Site Worker. Paul is also a Gulf War Veteran (of the US Air Force) and currently resides in New Jersey with his wife Melissa and his two children.
