In the online medical assistant training course, you will learn how medical law, ethics, and HIPAA rules factor into a clinical medical assistant's work. It will prepare you for roles working alongside medical providers performing clinical and administrative duties. You will be trained to use scheduling systems, facilitate patient check-in and check-out, assess medical records, administer injections, measure vital signs, maintain equipment and supplies, and more. The second part of the bundle will train you in electronic health record (EHR) systems and prepare you for EHR certification. The course also includes the opportunity to become CPR certified and participate in an unpaid clinical experience. Upon completion, you will be prepared to sit for the Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national certification exams offered by National Healthcareer Association (NHA) upon eligibility. This course includes vouchers which cover the fee for the exams. However, please research your state's requirements by visiting your state's Medical Board site before enrolling to ensure this CCMA course is the right fit for you. Students intending to work in Washington state may be required to provide or request an official transcript from the school they are enrolled with to qualify for employment as a Medical Assistant – Certified.
