Pollution Prevention :Tools for Sustainability
One of the most important strategies for achieving sustainability is to make modifications to the processes, product, or management of the product to reduce the generation of pollution, a.k.a. non-product output. In this course you will learn emerging trends in prevention and how they relate to modern management and reporting techniques. This course is ideal for someone seeking to lower operating costs, minimize risk and open new lines of profitability. In this course students will learn how to:
- Purchase environmentally friendly products and services,
- Select environmentally friendly chemicals,
- Integrate environmental issues into product design.
- Deliver services more efficiently by minimizing waste.
- Implement green manufacturing practices, selecting safer choice products
- Implement carbon reduction/greenhouse gas reduction techniques.
This course will give you strategies on how to improve efficiency while decreasing or eliminating pollution. Experts in pollution prevention, environmental management systems (EMS), environmental regulations, and energy efficiency conduct an interactive workshop with classroom exercises that will help you use P2 strategies to improve your bottom line.
Past participants saved more than $1.3 million dollars, and reduced over 650,000 pounds of hazardous waste, conserving a million gallons of water and reducing energy use; participants reported these benefits led to a more productive, profitable and clean operation. This course is good for large and small businesses. It should be taken by managers, EHS professionals, facility managers, purchasing officers or anyone involved in production of a product or service.
These courses are offered at a discount rate thanks to a cooperative agreement from the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
