Pharmacology Update 2010
The number of new pharmacological agents added to a list of current drugs and the changes in dosing regimens for other agents, is staggering and presents a daily challenge for nurses. In this series, you will have the opportunity to learn about the newest medications, as well as some of the common or preferred drugs, doses and routes of administration. Participate in this three part series and learn the latest information on pain management, cardiovascular medications, and agents used for infectious diseases. Recognize the nursing implications in terms of side effects and interactions and explore the patient teaching that is essential with these medications.

Jennifer A. Ziegler, PharmD, BCOPDr. Jennifer Ziegler is currently an Oncology Pharmacist at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005. She completed a one year oncology residency at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas where she worked with the Pain Clinic Team. Dr. Ziegler has presented to many nursing groups during her practice at Wake Forest and often spends time advising health care professionals on pain management approaches to enhance patient care.
