CPT 106
This course is designed to meet the new requirements for a silica competent person capable of recognizing and evaluating situations where overexposure may be occurring. The topics covered include routes of silica exposure; health effects of silica overexposure; exposure levels and tasks associated with acute and chronic silicosis; occupational exposure level and how exposures are measured; current regulations and best practices; determination of presence of silica through bulk sample analysis; material safety data sheets and material checklists; and controls to reduce silica exposures.
