Confined Space Entry for the Competent Person
This three day course is designed for personnel who may be designated as the Competent Person by their employer for confined space operations. It is also recommended for any construction, maintenance, or supervisory personnel involved in confined space operations. Topics include: hazard recognition, evaluation, and control; construction exposures and applications; detailed review of confined space regulations and requirements; hazard evaluation and classification of confined spaces; eliminating and controlling confined space hazards to include hazardous atmospheres, mechanical; electrocution, fire and explosions; developing and maintaining a managed confined space program; conducting hazard surveys and inspections; classification and permit procedures, ventilation, evacuation and rescue procedures, training; and incident investigations. Training includes active participation with hands-on activities and demonstrations.Prerequisites: OSHA #500 Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for Construction, OSHA #501 Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for General Industry, or ATP 191 Safety & Health Authorized Trainer. This course satisfies the requirements of OSHA, ANSI, and USACE 385-1-1.
