TRAFFIC CONTROL SUPERVISOR
16 HOURS

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This 16 hr. course is geared to those who supervise traffic control technicians and other personnel in roadway work zones and is intended to familiarize supervisors with procedures used to make decisions regarding work zone traffic control. Course meets TxDOT Special Provision to Item 7 standard for Contractor Responsible Person and Alternate.

COURSE CONTENT INCLUDES:
• Designing a series of traffic control plans that meet TMUTCD requirements
• Treatment procedures for pavement edge drop-offs
• Procedures for conducting periodic inspections of the traffic control setup
• Considerations for day and nighttime work zones
• Importance of proper record keeping
• A review of basic communication strategies for improved worker performance

CERTIFICATE:
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion, a card valid for 4 years, and 1.6 CEUs from UTA's Public Works Institute.

CONTRACT COURSE:
UTA will contract with an organization to deliver a course at its location and at its convenience. Contract classes are best suited for organizations looking to train a minimum of 10 or more students. (Max class size of 20.) CANCELLATIONS:
UT Arlington reserves the right to change or cancel any class. In the unfortunate event that a class must be changed or cancelled, you will be notified by phone and/or email. (Please provide us with the best way to contact you during the day.) The decision to cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment will be made approximately one to two days prior to the class. In the event that a class for which you have registered is cancelled, you may choose another class or receive a refund in accordance with the UT Arlington-CE Refund Policy.
