Lean Fundamentals for Safety: Hierarchy of Controls, 5S

This course provides hands-on practical experience applying lean principles to improve safety. Course material is presented in a "see–do" format over a five-day period. Topics include lean fundamentals, Hierarchy of Safety Controls, 5S, and practical safety reviews; training of Kaizens and Total Productive Maintenance; and an introduction to Mistake Proofing (Poke-Yoke). Review of process improvement tools, visual management boards, and a post-event safety audit will also be conducted, as well as an exam covering controls, lean tools, and visual management.
