Advanced System Safety Engineering

This advanced course in system safety focuses on enhancing the skills and knowledge of safety engineers in managing U.S. Army acquisition system safety programs. Participants will learn to effectively identify and control hazards, quantify and manage risks, and oversee safety throughout the system's life cycle. The course revisits engineering and management principles, criteria, and techniques introduced in the SE 101 System Safety and Analysis for Engineers and SE 201 Hazard & Accident Analysis Techniques for Safety Engineers courses, with a deeper focus on their practical application. Key topics include tasks, program relationships, and interactions essential for a successful system safety program. Emphasis is on life-cycle safety management activities, from program initiation through operations, sustainment, and end-of-life, highlighting critical elements for achieving materiel release safety.
