COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course provides an overview of the installation and maintenance of roadway signs and pavement markings using the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD), TxDOT standards, and industry best practices. Participants will learn proper placement, inspection, retroreflectivity requirements, sign maintenance methods, pavement marking applications, and traffic control device standards used to improve roadway safety and compliance. Hands-on exercises and real-world examples reinforce key concepts related to signs, markings, traffic signals, school zones, and railroad crossings.
COURSE CONTENT INCLUDES:
- TMUTCD overview and terminology
- Regulatory, warning, and guide signs
- Sign placement, mounting height, and lateral offset requirements
- Retroreflectivity standards and maintenance methods
- TxDOT Sign Crew Field Book and Pavement Marking Handbook

CERTIFICATE:
