CCT 300 - QUALIFIED FLAGGER TRAINING

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This TxDOT-approved training qualifies participants as “Qualified Flaggers” in accordance with Specification Items 7 (Legal Relations and Responsibilities) and 502 (Barricades, Signs, and Traffic Handling). Designed for personnel performing flagging duties on construction and maintenance projects, the course covers key responsibilities and the critical role of safe, effective traffic control.

  • Flagger duties and qualifications
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Hand signaling devices
  • Flagger procedures
  • Flagger stations
  • Setting up a work zone

AUDIENCE: This course is ideal for anyone responsible for performing flagger duties or supervising flagging operations, either directly or indirectly. It also meets the training requirements for individuals seeking certification as escort flaggers under Texas law and Chapter 22 of the Basic Peace Officer Course.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT HOURS:
This course has been approved for 2.5 continuing education credit hours by the County Judges & Commissioners Association of Texas.

CERTIFICATE: Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion from U UTA’s Extension and Extended Campus Transportation Training and Development Institute (TTDI) and a Qualified Flagger wallet card valid for a period of 4 years.
