ELECTRICAL ARC FLASH
AND NFPA 70-E


COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to introduce the participant to the basic components of an electrical circuit, the potential hazards, and how to recognize and avoid such hazards. This course will introduce various portions of NFPA, Vol. 70E covering electrical hazards and personal protective equipment (PPE). The course will enhance the knowledge of those individuals who install, maintain, inspect and/or supervise the repairs, tests, diagnostics, and other work on or near electrically energized equipment.


    COURSE CONTENT INCLUDES:
  • The terms voltage, current, and resistance as applied to an electrical circuit
  • Definitions of "Qualified Persons" and "Electrically Safe Work Condition"
  • Hazards associated with working on or near electrically energized equipment
  • The purpose and use of necessary personal protective equipment required to work on or near electrically energized equipment
