This introductory course is designed for those new to the field of BioHealth Informatics, including clinical professionals, healthcare administrators & managers, IT specialists looking to transition into healthcare, life sciences & biotechnology specialists, and anyone interested in the intersection of health and technology.
The application of informatics to the biomedicine has typically followed two separate paths, one being bioinformatics as applied to biomedical research and product development, with the other being health informatics as applied to healthcare services, clinical practice, and public health. But both bioinformatics and health informatics are fundamentally interrelated, and this Overview of BioHealth Informatics course provide a solid foundation in both areas.
The focus is on building a solid background, learning basic informatics tools, understanding real-world applications, and preparing participants for further study or entry-level roles in bioinformatics and/or health informatics.
