FLG 521 - QUALIFIED FLAGGER TRAINING

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This comprehensive course is designed to train individuals on how to safely direct and control traffic in work zones, such as construction sites and road maintenance projects. Participants will learn proper flagging techniques, required safety apparel, and standard procedures to protect both workers and motorists. Aligned with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD), the training combines classroom learning with practical exercises, preparing participants to carry out traffic control responsibilities effectively and minimize the risk of accidents.

• Setting up a work zone

AUDIENCE: This course is ideal for anyone responsible for performing flagger duties or supervising flagging operations, either directly or indirectly. It also meets the training requirements for individuals seeking certification as escort flaggers under Texas law and Chapter 22 of the Basic Peace Officer Course.

CERTIFICATE: Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Qualified Flagger wallet card valid for a period of 4 years from UTA's Extension and Extended Campus' Transportation Training and Development Institute (TTDI).
