This course provides training and application of the concepts of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code requirements that protect people, property, and equipment. The course covers a host of topics related to reducing the spread of fire in buildings and providing means of safe egress from buildings when necessary. Case studies and exercises will be used to convey the concepts behind the code and its relationship to OSHA and Building Code requirements. Attendees will receive a copy of the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.

Notes:

This training will be conducted via Microsoft Teams, and no software download is required. Participants must have a PC or Mac computer with audio and video capabilities, and an uninterrupted internet connection. Participants must present a government-issued photo ID to attend this training.

Paul Wind

Paul Wind is a Battalion Chief with the Picatinny Arsenal Fire & Emergency Services in New Jersey. Paul is a 30-year veteran in Emergency Services where he has served as both a volunteer and career firefighter and holds numerous nationally accredited certifications. He has over 19 years in OSHA Outreach Training with 6 years at UTA. He continues to develop and instruct courses with a discipline in Hazardous Materials, Permit Required Confined Space, Excavation Safety, Firefighter Health & Safety, and Disaster Site Worker. Paul is also a Gulf War Veteran (of the US Air Force) and currently resides in New Jersey with his wife Melissa and his two children.
