This program will prepare participants to be work-ready inspectors for transportation, construction, and engineering firms. Inspector jobs have never been in higher demand. In Texas alone, $27.5 billion will be spent in the next five years on highways and bridges! Persons who can successfully observe, measure, and document the work based on the specification standards are needed on every project, every day. Starting pay for entry-level inspectors is typically in the $30/hour range and could be much higher for those who excel in this program.
There are course prerequisites for training in traffic control and work zone setup, OSHA regulations, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans.
The Advanced Road Inspector (ARI) program is a training developed in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation. The classroom and field experiences will be the first step in development of a knowledgeable and competent inspector.
Courses will run on Thursdays for 14 weeks. Participants will be required to attend all 14 courses and there will be additional dates added for mandatory testing and field trips.
Courses can not be taken individually.
