Principles of Scaffolding
22.5 Hours | $650Contract Price: $8,000
This course covers the requirements for safe construction and use of scaffolding using OSHA’s construction scaffold standards as a guide. Course topics include hazards associated with scaffold design, assembly, disassembly and use, types of scaffolds, determining scaffold capacity, employee qualifications and training and maintenance, repair and inspection requirements. Students will participate in workshops to reinforce concepts of safe scaffolding. Upon course completion students will have the ability to identify the types of scaffolds and their components, determine safe assembly, use, and disassembly and recognize common violations of OSHA standards.
Participants will need a hard hat, work boots, work gloves, safety glasses and a safety vest for the hands-on portion of this class.

Eric Stephan
Eric has been in the construction industry since 1985. His experience stems from being a Deputy Sheriff for Travis County Sheriff's Dept, Safety Director for White Construction Company, and an OSHA Education Center instructor for numerous training institutes. Eric has also helped to negotiate large budget construction programs for many corporate construction businesses, and is an active member of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Austin.
