In light of current events, we must postpone the upcoming Earth Day event schedule for (date). This year we will have speakers from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality (TCEQ) present on Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures, and Pollution Prevention.
Chris Perry is an Environmental Protection Specialist for the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Region 6 Oil Program in Dallas, TX. As an Oil Inspector, his primary responsibilities include the inspection of facilities that utilize above ground storage tanks to produce and/or store oil products. This inspection process includes the review of all administrative documents for the facility along with an inspection of the required oil production/storage equipment and all spill prevention/response equipment maintained by the facility.
Calen Roome is the Pollution Prevention Work Leader in the Public Education Section.
Prior to his current position, Calen was TCEQ's Program Coordinator for the Waste Reduction Policy Act. He also worked as a Drinking Water Specialist in the TCEQ Water Supply Division and for the University of Texas-Arlington where he supported the TCEQ Water Supply Division. Calen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Michael Bish is the Texas Environmental Excellence Awards Program Coordinator and the K-12 Education Coordinator. Prior to joining TCEQ, Michael served as a tank crewman in the United States Army for five years and attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with a B.S. in Urban and Regional Planning.
