Process Safety Management (PSM)

Process Safety Management, or PSM, is an OSHA requirement for companies that utilize Highly Hazardous Chemicals (HHC) in their manufacturing process. The OSHA requirements were developed in response to the Clean Air Act. This course describes the procedures required by OSHA and instructs the student in how to design a full implementation of a PSM program that addresses the hazard issues and is compliant with the OSHA requirements. The course is designed for anyone who is in the management of a PSM facility or whose responsibilities include establishing or auditing the process to ensure compliance.

Scot A. Rudolph is a senior Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security (SHE/HSE/HSSE) leader with more than 20 years of experience directing enterprise-level safety, risk management, and emergency response programs across the energy, construction, manufacturing, marine, and industrial sectors. He has extensive expertise in EPC and EPCM project environments, contractor safety governance, enterprise risk management, and ISO-aligned HSE management systems. Rudolph has been recognized for crisis leadership during major incidents, including the BP Deepwater Horizon response where he helped protect more than 15,000 responders with zero fatalities, and the Enviva Port of Chesapeake deflagration.
