This course covers safety and health management responsibilities. Participants will be able to implement a workplace Safety and Health Management Program (SHMP) according to OSHA's Recommended Practices for Safety and Health Programs and related guidance. The course covers the fundamentals of occupational safety and health management program (SHMP), SHMP recordkeeping requirements, and how to assess workplace safety and health management program.

John Kossos

John is a safety, health and environmental professional with nearly 30 years' experience in general industry and construction. After working in the EHS field for companies such as Lear Corporation, PepsiCo, Masco Corporation John began consulting and teaching for the OSHA Training Institute Training Centers. John earned his Master of Science in Safety & Environmental Management from West Virginia University's College of Engineering & Mineral Resources. He is a Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO), Safety Health and Environmental Professional (SHEP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Registered Environmental Manager (REM), Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), and a Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP). John is a consultant and trainer at The Kossos Group, LLC where he provides professional services in the areas of environmental, health, safety, security and energy. John has served as an Instructor at the OSHA Training Institute Education Centers since 2018.
