COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This 8-hour course is only for those who have taken the 16-hour Traffic Control Supervisor course in the previous 4-year cycle. The course meets the TxDOT Special Provision to Item 7 standard for Refresher Course for Contractor Responsible Person and Alternate.

    COURSE CONTENT INCLUDES:
  • Legal Standards for Traffic Control Plans.
  • Designing a series of traffic control plans that meet TMUTCD and TxDOT (TCP) requirements.
  • Procedures for conducting periodic inspections of the traffic control setup.
  • Importance of proper record keeping.
  • A review of basic communication strategies for improved worker performance.

CERTIFICATE:
Upon successful course completion, students will receive a certificate of completion and .8 CEUs from UTA's Public Works Institute.

PREREQUISITE:
Proof of attendance from a class on the approved list on Special Provision to Item 7 Contractor Responsible Person and Alternate in the previous 4 years.
