The UT Arlington Division for Enterprise Development's Environmental Training Institute (ETI) offers compliance assistance training for those managing environmental challenges or implementing environmental regulations in Air, Waste, Water and Management. Through training and education, you or your employees can play an active role in your sustainable compliance strategy. Visits from the EPA can be extremely expensive. Avoid paying penalties by educating your workforce. Courses can be taken individually or in support of certificate programs - no need to apply to UT Arlington, simply register for your courses and begin the learning process. Introduction to Environmental Compliance (Online Simulcast)

This course is designed to give environmental, health, and safety professionals the tools they need to ensure their workplace is in compliance with environmental regulations and reduce environmental risks. The course will cover the basics of environmental regulations and demonstrate how to identify pertinent regulations to your operations.

It will also cover elements of the major environmental programs at the State level and review the enforcement and compliance tools by regulatory area. Activities and case studies will be used throughout the course to allow attendees to apply knowledge of the topics discussed during the course.

Intro to Water and Wastewater Regulations (Online Webinar)

This course provides an introduction to the Clean Water Act (CWA) and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), to include the NPDES permit types for storm water, industrial wastewater, domestic wastewater, and pre-treatment. Case studies and class activities will be used to provide opportunities for participants to utilize knowledge gained during the course. The course will facilitate student's ability to attain and maintain compliance with applicable water and wastewater regulations, and to better understand how those regulations impact their organization.

Two Day Training Pollution Prevention and WRPA (Webinar)

This course helps you save money by reducing pollution and complying with the Texas Waste Reduction Policy Act (WRPA). We offer this course in partnership with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Instructors come from both organizations. The course's framework is based on WRPA which requires Pollution Prevention (P2) planning for facilities that are a Large Quantity Generator, or Small Quantity Generator of hazardous waste or report on the Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Form R. You will leave this course with the tools you need to create your Pollution Prevention plan.

Fundamentals of the Clean Air Act (Simulcast)

The Clean Air Act (CAA) requires facilities to implement robust air emission control practices which are regulated and enforced through a complex permitting process. During this class, the instructor will give an overview of the most pertinent CAA requirement including the New Source Review process, Title V permitting, Permit by Rule, and requirements for Hazardous Air Permitting. Using class room activities and presentations with a discussion of compliance and enforcement activities, students will gain an understanding of what requirements may apply to their facility(ies) and the path to compliance.
