This is an Online Webinar Course. There are no live meetings. You will see and hear the instructor and be able to chat with the instructor as well as your classmates. Class will start and end at the time indicated as if you were taking a live class. After you register for the class you will receive information as to how to access the class within 48 hours prior to the start of the class.
This course will be an overview of the methods and techniques used to help individuals with ASD communicate. Connections between reading, writing, communication and instruction, adaptive devices and software dedicated communication devices will be examined. The course focuses primarily on classroom use of American Sign Language application and its direct and indirect impact on the delivery of services for students with ASD.

Upon successful completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Use sign language creatively
- Develop a picture system to relay information
- Assist in overall communication style with special needs individuals
