Jeff Rich is an astronomer and the Outreach Coordinator at the Carnegie Observatories in Pasadena. In this role. Dr. Rich organizes the division's annual Open House, school visits, star parties, and community astronomy nights. He also co-initiated a STEM education program with Mount Wilson Observatory and co-manages the Observatories' annual Astronomy Lecture Series at the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens. In addition to his educational efforts, Dr. Rich is an astronomer who researches the processes that shape galaxy evolution and formation, primarily through detailed observational studies of galaxies in the nearby universe. He earned his Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a bachelor's degree in the same from University of Southern California.
