The University of Texas at Arlington Division for Enterprise Development has partnered with digital badge provider, Credly, to offer digital badges at the conclusion of your course, certificate program or conference. You could earn a badge that would indicate your skills and accomplishments and then share the badge on various online platforms to showcase your achievement. Digital badges are micro-credentials that recognize a person's achievement, skill, or knowledge. Your digital badges can also be accessed by employers and other interested parties by clicking on the badge to verify the meta-data stored on the Credly badging platform that will contain the details regarding the badge micro-credential. What is a Digital Badge?
It's a new currency of talent. A University of Texas at Arlington Division for Enterprise Development digital badge describes the specific competencies and outcome-based skills you earned in a course, program, conference or certificate. It tells the world what you learned and why it matters, and it's verifiable.

With a digital badge, you can showcase your skills by displaying a complete picture of your relevant and valuable accomplishments on all social media and online platforms.

What is a badge?
Digital badges are micro-credentials that recognize a person's achievement, skill, or knowledge that can be shared and verified in real time, online.

How does my certification get displayed as a badge?
We have partnered with Credly to translate the learning outcomes you've demonstrated into a badge, issued and managed by UTA Division of Enterprise Development. The technology Credly uses is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global. This enables you to manage, share and verify your competencies digitally.

What are the benefits of a badge?
Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you are now capable of now.

Do I earn a badge for every course, program, certificate or conference?
No, only select courses, programs, certificates, and conferences currently issue digital badges. The option is listed within the course or program details. You can always email: dedbadging@uta.edu to determine if we issue a particular badge.

Who is Credly?
Credly is the end-to-end solution for issuing and managing digital credentials. Credly works with credible organizations to provide digital credentials to individuals, worldwide.

How will I know if I've earned a badge?
You will receive an email notification from The University of Texas at Arlington Division for Enterprise Development via Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account and online profile.

When will I be receiving my badge?
Earners typically receive their badges 7 to 10 days after earning the achievement, completing a course, or certificate program.

It has been over 10 days since I completed my course and I still have not received my badge. Who should I contact?
Send an email to: dedbadging@uta.edu with your name, badge name, date you earned your badge, and any other questions you may have.

What if I don't want my badge to be public?
You can easily configure your privacy settings in Credly. You are in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.

Is there a fee to use Credly?
No. This is a service we provide that comes at no additional cost to participants who earn UTA Division of Enterprise Development credentials.

What's to keep someone else from copying my badge and using it?
While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on Credly. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.

Where and how can I share my badge through Credly?
You can share your badge directly from Credly to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook; over email; embedded in a website or in your email signature.

What are labor market insights and how can I access them through Credly?
Labor market insights are pulled from live job requisitions. Based on your skills you can learn which employers are hiring, what job titles you might be qualified for, salary ranges and more. Search active job listings and even apply for them with just a few clicks through Credly. Access the labor market insights from your badge details page by clicking on Related Jobs, or by clicking on the skill tags assigned to your badge.

Can I import badges issued from other platforms into Credly?
Not at this time.

What is the process for receiving a badge retroactively?
You can request a digital badge from a previous course, program, or certificate you have previously earned if the badge is currently offered. There is a $5.00 processing fee per request. Once you have paid your processing fee one of our representatives will be in contact within 48 hours of the request.
