Prerequisite: Introduction to Photography 1, any exceptions must be approved by the instructor.

Build on the concepts and practices learned in Intro to Photography 1. This course covers an intro to the following: Adobe Lightroom, portrait photography, posing, flash photography and deeper understanding of concepts from Photography 1. Participants will put concepts into practice with an on campus night shoot using available light and flash.

Camera Equipment: (should be brought to each class session)

  • Digital camera with full manual operation
  • Digital camera such as the following
    • DSLR (Digital single lens reflex)
    • ZLR (Zoom lens reflex), or
    • Advanced Range Finder
  • Camera lenses
  • Memory card
  • Camera instruction booklet
  • Camera battery
  • Flash(es) such as a Speedlite

Recommended Textbook:
Understanding Exposure, Fourth Edition: How to Shoot Great Photographs with Any Camera, by Bryan Perterson

Recommended Software:

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Lightroom CC, or other version of Lightroom
