This course will prepare you for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
This course will give you a comprehensive overview of working as a phlebotomist. During this phlebotomist training course, you will learn about drawing blood from patients and blood donors, evaluating patients' ability to withstand the procedure, and helping them feel comfortable. You will learn how to properly explain the blood-drawing procedure to patients and the importance of answering their queries. In this online phlebotomy course, you will also be introduced to performing basic point-of-care testing, such as reading blood glucose levels and preparing blood, urine, and other specimens for testing, along with maintaining medical equipment such as needles, test tubes, and blood vials.
The asynchronous, online phlebotomy certification course includes simulation experience through the inclusion of a lab kit for assignments and aligned simulations for practice. You will have access to videos outlining procedures and "how to's" that allow for firsthand practice as expected in real-world scenarios. This CPT certification course will also provide you with comprehensive, all-inclusive training, which will assist you in pursuing a new career as a phlebotomy technician, and with a complimentary voucher to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) upon eligibility.
Live Stick Workshop Overview
This online phlebotomy technician training course includes participation in a live stick workshop after all eligibility requirements have been met and the successful completion of the ed2go course. Within the three-day workshop, you will practice your technique of performing a proper venipuncture and complete the minimum 30/10 venipuncture and dermal puncture (live stick) requirements set by the NHA to obtain your Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification.
The workshop is currently only offered in limited states and cities. Prior to enrollment, you will have to pick your workshop site. You will need to be within the radius of the site you choose and be willing to travel at your own expense to the workshop site for the three days of attendance.
The Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Live Stick Workshop, Lab, and Vouchers) course is currently only offered in the following states: AL, MS, TX, FL, NC, SC, GA, and VA.
