Course Description

This course will cover the usage and management of health information and the electronic health record (EHR). Through classroom and practical instruction, the student will learn to assemble a patient's health record and ensure that all information is complete, properly identified and authenticated. Topics discussed include medical terminology, electronic data entry, data analysis, and record retention. This course will also provide students with a practical understanding of the role of an electronic health record specialist and how important they are in the job market today.

Total Hours: 120 (online)

Prerequisites: High school diploma or equivalent.

Fee: Includes textbook(s) and Electronic Health Records national certification exam.
