Like the music industry, the Internet has created a revolution in the film making industry.
Never before has there been so many overnight sensations in film making thanks to YouTube as a medium for broadcasting movie shorts, commercials, video tutorials, and parodies. In combination with social media, there is a huge demand for freelance video editing professionals who can edit, organize and turn a bland homemade video into a message, story, or a vision.
If you are an up-and-coming filmmaker or film student, chances are youíve heard someone talking about Adobe Premiere Pro, and wondered if itís a software program you should obtain and learn. While Final Cut Pro is considered by many to be the industry standard for film/video editing software, some people now consider Adobe Premiere to be an excellent alternative, especially since the latest release of Final Cut (Final Cut Pro X) has been considered a major disappointment. Essentially whether you use one or the other (or both) depends on your needs and preferences.
Filmmaking is not rocket science. Everything about filmmaking is extremely easy to learn. Anyone can do it if they wish. This course will cover the basics of video editing that includes workflows, pixel aspect ratio, importing files, exporting still frames, making a rough cut, creating titles, adding ambient sounds to cover audio breaks, and more!
