Machine shop experience is recommended but NOT required.

This course is designed for current CNC machine operators to possess the ability to progress in their career. This course will enable successful candidates the ability to safely produce basic CNC programs for a 3 axis CNC machining center. The participant will possess the knowledge to understand, comprehend, and create a simple CNC program. Topics covered will involve machine axis, co-ordinate system, program structure, program format, preparatory commands, miscellaneous functions, modal and non modal commands, safety blocks, tool calls, calculating RPM and surface speed for tools, and various drilling canned cycles. Fanuc style programming will be the emphasis in this course.
