Patient Care Technician

Through classroom and practical instruction, the student will learn to assist with in-patient and out-patient care. Topics include bedside care, obtaining vital signs and measurements, collecting blood samples, and recording electrocardiograms.

The PCT program consists of three components:
1. Certified Nurse Aide
2. EKG Technician
3. Phlebotomy Technician

Classroom hours: 220
Tuition includes:Textbooks(s), UTA-EEC ID badge, one set of scrubs, drug test, CPR training and CNA State Certification exam, EKG Technician Certification exam, and Phlebotomy Technician certification exam.
Orientation: We will go over everything you need to submit and answer all of your questions on the first day of class.

PLEASE NOTE:
Patient Care Technician participants are not required to complete an externship in order to be eligible for certification.
As a result, externships are no longer assigned as part of the program. Participants will develop the required skills through structured classroom instruction aligned with certification standards. Participants choosing to complete an externship must independently secure their own placement. Program staff will assist with onboarding after a site has been confirmed.
