PARALEGAL
This rigorous program is designed to prepare students with essential skills needed to become professional paralegals. Students will learn the essentials of legal terminology, ethics, research, and writing before advancing to substantive law courses of family law, criminal, and civil law, real estate, probate, bankruptcy and employment law.
Program Admission
Entrance into the Paralegal Certificate Program requires the following:
- Completion of the Paralegal Program Application
- Submission of a college transcript showing completion of 60+ hours.
If a potential participant has less than 60 hours of college credit, they must submit a transcript, history of work experience and a letter of reference. -
This program will require that you have access to a computer and internet outside of class. Students are required to have a previous working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
You must know the following:
Microsoft Word:Navigation of the menu and ribbons; standard business formats for memos, letters, invoices; mail, directory, and document merge; formatting & formatting for printing.
Microsoft Excel:navigation of the menu and ribbons; set up a workbook; inputting basic formulas including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and cell references.

Total Program Cost: $3010* (Includes $75.00 Application and Certificate Fee)
Upon completion of the program, students must complete the Paralegal Certificate Request Form, submit it to the Continuing Education office and pay the $75.00 processing fee.
