Dental Assistant

This course prepares the student to assist in dental practices. Classroom and practical instruction includes oral health, dental disease prevention, infection control, dental instrumentation, oral anatomy, and assisting in the delivery of dental care and treatment. Upon successful completion, the student is awarded a certificate of completion from UT Arlington.

Students interested in becoming registered with the State of Texas must take a state mandated registration course and exam. Certifying bodies may require documents as proof of employment eligibility. All programs include HIPAA, infection control, blood borne pathogens, personal protective equipment and hand washing review.

Total hours: 336 (176 classroom + 160 externship)
Tuiton includes: textbooks(s), Health Careers Institute ID badge, one set of scrubs, drug test, CPR training, externship placement and State of Texas Registration course and exams.
Orientation: held on the first day of class. We will go over everything you need to submit, as well as discuss externship placement at this time.
