FS 2225 - Respiratory Protection for Firefighters, Law Enforcement, & First Responders
$595/26 HoursFirefighters are exposed to a variety of toxic, irritating, and carcinogenic compounds in the smoke from combustion and other chemical vapors encountered while on the fire scene. In response to these risks, various standards and regulations are designed to protect firefighters. This course covers the requirements for the establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of a respiratory protection program for fire departments. Course topics include terminology, NFPA requirements, OSHA Respiratory Protection Standards, NIOSH certification, respiratory protection programs, and medical evaluation requirements. Program highlights include workshops on respirator selection to fit the exposure, qualitative and quantitative fit testing, and the use of respiratory protection and support equipment.
