Course Description

This course is suitable for people who are thinking of taking up beekeeping or have already started. You will learn how to start, maintain, and care for a honey bee colony.

Includes a field trip where you will be working around live bee colonies. Wear light-colored and smooth-textured clothing, as dark-colored, textured, and woolly clothing can aggravate the bees. Refrain from using perfume or hair gel and keep jewelry to a minimum.

Instructor Barry Baker has been a beekeeper for fifteen years and is a member of the Metro Beekeepers Association.
