Facility Management Professional (FMP) Credential Program
IFMA Credential is in addition to the course fee.
There are still openings remaining at this time.
The International Facility Management Association's Facility Management Professional (FMP) credential is an assessment-based program aligned with IFMA's global task analysis. It is designed to ensure that those receiving the FMP credential demonstrate a proven comprehension of the foundations of facility management. The program is a comprehensive training and assessment program that provides IFMA members, chapters, councils, partners and facility management professionals with the practical knowledge and skills required by today's employers. Facility managers make use of all aspects of project management beginning with planning, scoping, scheduling and ending with evaluating. Project planning and management are core skills in facility management. The skills are particularly important because of the wide range of projects assigned to the facility organization. Projects vary in scope, complexity, duration, and financial risk.
The FMP Credential Program awarded by IFMA combines printed materials, interactive online study tools, and FMP final assessments in one program. To be eligible for the FMP credential, participants must successfully pass the four final assessments and submit an application, with fee, to IFMA.
The four knowledge domains and required courses taught and tested by the IFMA FMP Credential Program are:
- Operations and Maintenance: Friday and Saturday, April 25 & 26
- Project Management: Friday and Saturday, May 9 & 10
- Finance and Business Essentials: Friday and Saturday, May 30 & May 31
- Leadership and Strategy Essentials: Friday and Saturday, June 13 & 14
There are no specific educational or experiential requirements to be eligible to earn the FMP credential. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded by UT Arlington Continuing Education.
Each class is offered on two consecutive days, Friday and Saturday.
In order to obtain an overall program certificate for the Facilities Management Certificate Program, participants must notify the Continuing Education office upon overall program completion. The Continuing Education office will verify program completion and mail the certificate to the address on record.
