FLG 522 - QUALIFIED FLAGGER AND TRAINER

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Flagger Instructor Course is tailored for experienced industry professionals who oversee work zone safety operations and are seeking certification to train flaggers. In addition to basic training in fundamental concepts of work zone traffic control and flagging, adult training techniques will be presented, discussed, and demonstrated. There will be an opportunity for the participants to practice training techniques and flagging procedures. No prerequisites.

• Flagger duties and qualifications
• Personal protective equipment
• Hand signaling devices
• Flagger procedures
• Setting up a work zone
• Adult learning principlesv
• Demonstrating effective teaching and presentation techniques

AUDIENCE:
Whether you're part of a maintenance or utility crew, construction team, or work for a state or local agency, this course is tailored to anyone involved in operations within or near highway rights-of-way.

CERTIFICATE:
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Qualified Flagger wallet card valid for a period of 4 years from UTA's Extension and Extended Campus Transportation Training and Development Institute (TTDI).
