This course will provide you with the opportunity to improve the efficiency of your organization through the elimination of pollutants and the application of lean principles within an environmental management system. The first day will focus on how an EHS manager can transform their role as "EHS compliance officer" into a sustainability and profit manager. There will also be an overview of principles of lean operations so you are equipped to improve the bottom line, reduce your regulatory burdens, and increase the overall efficiency of your organization. The next two days will be an interactive workshop lead by experts in pollution prevention, environmental management systems (EMS), environmental regulations, and energy efficiency. The course will walk you through the process of composing a pollution prevention plan or renewing your pollution prevention plan to ensure you get the most from your efforts. Finally participants in this course will integrate their lean and pollution prevention plan using detailed value stream mapping.
