Stormwater Eros Sediment Control Day 1
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to qualify field inspectors and design personnel in the appropriate preparation, inspection and implementation of suitable site-specific erosion and sediment control techniques. The course includes storm water design techniques, construction installation, and inspection/maintenance practices required for design and construction staff and environmental coordinators.
The course emphasizes erosion and sediment control practices for disturbed areas during construction. All personnel involved in project storm water protection and prevention must recognize available basic and appropriate Best Management Practices.
This one-day course is applicable for ALL personnel involved in storm water protection, and prevention. ENV301 covers topics specific to designers of storm water plans. Participants are required to successfully complete an end of course examination proving competency or attainment of the course objectives.
ENV300 is part of a series of classes designed to provide the tools necessary to achieve effective erosion and sediment control on TxDOT projects: ENV 300, ENV 301, and ENV 103. ENV 301 provides advanced erosion and sediment control design strategies and ENV 103 is a field exercise.
- OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand and employ basic regulations relating to storm water erosion and sediment control.
- Apply the basic principles of sediment and erosion control.
- Select and apply appropriate Best Management Practices for surface protection, velocity reduction and flow control.
- Select and apply appropriate Best Management Practices for access protection and runoff management.
- Explore and utilize techniques for inspection and maintenance of storm water erosion and sediment control.
